美国特工局最“精明”的特工名叫麦克斯维?精明（唐?亚当斯饰），特工代号86。他是美国特工局的一名特工人员。根据他的领导——“头儿”（爱德华?普拉特饰）的指示，麦克斯维与邪恶的混沌组织做着不懈的斗争。使用特种部队的“独特”武器，麦克斯维与他的搭档——99号特工（芭芭拉?菲尔顿饰）一次次的击碎了混沌组织毁灭世界的阴谋，与特工局的全体同事一起立下了丰功伟绩。当然，他们同时也闹出了一串串的笑话。
